Typical applications include drying air for radar waveguide, pressurization, environmental protection of optical and infrared pods and sensors, providing dry high pressure air for pneumatic weapons release and purifying high pressure air for infrared cooling for missile seekers.

WEAPONS & STORES RELEASE

A mandated change is taking place in DoD’s approach to weapons release. The high maintenance pyrotechnic method of weapons ejection is being replaced by pneumatic pylon/rack systems. DRYTECH currently provides desiccant filters that provide extremely dry air to the accumulator rams, eliminating any potential freeze ups at altitude.

INFRARED/CRYOGENIC COOLING

DRYTECH provides a range of zeolite filters that are able to convert high pressure air/gas to purity levels of below 2 ppm moisture and CO2 for cryogenic cooling of infrared detection in thermal imaging systems and missile seekers. Typical filter life is 100 to 200 hours.

AIRBORNE OPTICAL SYSTEMS

Airborne optical sensors suffer from moisture inhalation during mission descent. DRYTECH provides environmental protection of such systems using valved desiccators or ram air feed through cartridges to envelop the pod/sensor with very dry air to ensure reliable sensor performance.

It is equally important in commercial applications to ensure products remain dry and free of contaminants during operation and storage.  The best way to do this is to use a type of desiccant breather or tank vent dryer to PREVENT water and contaminants from entering your equipment.  Our tank vent dryers are commonly used on sulfuric acid tanks to prevent the tank contents from becoming diluting with water and in turn corrosive.  By using a tank vent dryer, wet contaminated air is instead filtered, providing dry clean air into the storage tank or reservoir.

A common practice in the waste water industry is to balance water PH levels with sulfuric acid.  Typically this is done with a large sulfuric acid tank providing a constant dosing into a holding tank being treated.  Sulfuric acid does a great job balancing the PH levels, but is very hygroscopic, adsorbing moisture all the time.  To prevent a sulfuric acid tank from adsorbing this moisture, a tank vent dryer should be used.  A tank vent dryer serves as the first line of defense, filtering wet contaminated air from entering your tank in the first place.
